In association with MaximiseIT
(a UK-based company), xPert Technologies offers a GSM/GPS-based Asset /
Motor Vehicle monitoring system which can be set up for single-user or Bureau
operation.
GPS technology enables both fixed and mobile assets to be located at
pin-point accuracy anywhere on the earth provided they are fitted with
a suitable GPS receiver.
GSM technology allows mobile voice calls to be made as well as the transmission
of Short Messages provided the asset has a suitable GSM transmitter and
receiver.
By combining the two technologies it is possible to monitor, track and
log the status and position of a motor vehicle and transmits its position
and status as a SMS message, to a central Office for display on a digital
map.
The TeleBudgie System that we have offers numerous benefits including:
- Communications
Making two-way GSM voice calls between the Driver/Vehicle and the Office.
It is possible for the Office to contact the Driver by making a GSM voice
call and offer the Driver instructions with regards to the delivery and
pickup of goods. Conversely the Driver can also make a voice call to his
Manager requesting directions or assistance.
In the event of vehicle breakdown, not only is the Driver able to contact
the Office but the Office can send out roadside assistance and recovery
since the System knows about the geographical location of the vehicle.
- Security and Surveillance
The TeleBudgie System is ideal for monitoring vehicles transporting high-value
items such as commodities (chemicals, drugs, perishable food, etc). If
the vehicle enters a forbidden geographical region, the vehicle owner
can be alerted by a SMS message being sent to his mobile phone.
If the vehicle owner is suffering losses during the transportation of
cargo, the system will be able to log whenever the cargo door is opened
and record the geographical position of the vehicle when this has happened.
Alternatively the owner can be notified immediately by a SMS message being
sent to his mobile phone whenever the cargo door is opened.
In the unfortunate event that a vehicle is stolen, it will be possible
to track the vehicle so that it can be recovered. Drivers who fit their
vehicles with such a System can benefit from lower insurance premiums
too.
- Logging
It is possible to log Ignition ON/OFF times, vehicle speed, vehicle status,
temperature (useful when transporting perishable goods for health and
safety reasons), etc. The logged information can then be downloaded for
subsequent analysis and reports can be produced. Drivers
